Tenor, Seil Kim has performed extensively in Europe and Asia, having sung at Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Vienna Musikverein, State Opera Berlin, Tonhalle Zurich, Handel Festival in Lucerne, and Seoul Arts Center.
Seil has vast repertories in Opera, Oratorio and Art songs, from Baroque to Modern, and among his many critically acclaimed roles are Orphée in La descente d’Orphée aux enfers by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, the evangelist and Tenor solo in St. Matthew Passion and St, John Passion by J. S. Bach, and Ernesto in Don Pasquale by Donizetti.
The Winner of the International Schubert Competition in Osaka, Seil has also won Second Prize of the Maria Callas Competition in Athens, Third Prize in the “Das Lied” competition in Berlin, the Swiss Migros Prize (twice), and the Best-Singer Prize of Verbier Festival in Switzerland.

His teachers have included Nicolai Gedda, Franco Corelli, Thomas Quasthoff, and Eric Tappy, and he received a diploma from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and a concert diploma from the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève. In 2008, the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts) awarded Seil a Soloiste Diploma and named him a “Musiker”.
