“She and Him” by soprano Myung-ju Lee, tenor Se-il Kim,
and pianist Jae-hyeok Cho, taking place in May, spring in full swing.

1840 was composer Schumann's 'Year of Lieder.' While waiting for the court's permission
to marry his beloved Clara, he composed 'The Poet's Love', and after receiving permission
to marry him, he immediately completed 'A Woman's Love and Life'.
Soprano Myung-ju Lee and tenor Se-il Kim will sing these two representative songs of Schumann in succession,
expressing on stage the sorrowful emotions the composer had at the time.
The biggest characteristic of Schumann's songs is that vocal music and piano are treated with equal importance.
Rather than simply reproducing vocal lyrics, the piano sets the overall mood.
I am sure that pianist Cho Jae-hyuk, who has a lyrical sensibility,
will join this performance, making it an even more brilliant and beautiful stage.


완연한 봄, 5월에 펼쳐지는 소프라노 이명주, 테너 김세일, 피아니스트 조재혁의 [그녀와 그]

 1840년은 작곡가 슈만의 '가곡의 해'이다. 사랑하는 클라라와의 결혼을 위해
원의 허락을 기다리는 동안에는 ‘시인의 사랑'을 작곡했고,
그와 결혼해도 좋다는 허가를 받고 나서는 곧바로 '여인의 사랑과 생애'를 완성했다.
소프라노 이명주와 테너 김세일은 슈만의 대표 가곡인 이 두 곡을 연이어 부르며
당시 작곡가가 가졌던 애틋한 감정을 무대 위에 풀어낼 예정이다.
슈만 가곡의 가장 큰 특징은 성악과 피아노가 동등한 비중으로 다뤄진다는 것이다.
단순히 성악 가사를 재현하는 것이 아니라 피아노는 전체적인 분위기를 이끌어 간다.
서정적인 감수성을 지닌 피아니스트 조재혁이 이번 공연에 함께해 더욱 찬연하고 아름다운 무대가 되리라 확신한다.
